"LITERARY STUFFINGS" THANKSGIVING INTERVIEW SERIES WITH AUTHOR, JOSEPH BEEKMAN ("LITTLE ORPHAN ANVIL")
Thank you again for donating a book for the "Literary Stuffings" giveaway. Can you tell us more about the book you donated?
My pleasure! Yes, the book, “LITTLE ORPHAN ANVIL”, is a fantasy/adventure based story. It tells the tale of an orphaned robot who, after being lost to a wicked storm cast from the dark magic of an evil witch, is found and sets out with its reunited creator and a few pals to save an orphanage from the dark shadowed spell of the witch. It’s sort of a whimsical, fun, yet, dark and spooky tale that shines a light of hope weaved
within it. So far, it has been getting great reviews, including quite a few 5 star reviews! Of course, very happy with that! Initially it was self-published, but eventually was picked up and is now published with World Castle Publishing.
This time of year is usually a warm and happy time with friends and family, how do you usually spend Thanksgiving every year?
I spend it with my family. Two older brothers, a younger sister, my parents, and my niece and nephew, who are a lot of fun to be around! So, it’s kinda laid back, watch football and eat and just catch up a bit. ☺
Can you remember one of your most happiest Thanksgivings?
Well, probably would be when I was little…most of those were great…my grandparents were still around, so it was pretty neat and I do miss them.
What's your favorite thing about Thanksgiving?
Sleeping. ☺ Actually, relaxing and just hanging out with family. But the time off work is nice and too just sleep a bit more is great! ☺
Some families have traditions they do every year, does your family have a tradition that goes along with Thanksgiving?
No, just keep it simple and eat and hang out. Nothing electric ☺
Food is always one of the biggest things about this time of year, do you have a favorite desert or even a recipe you'd like to share with us?
No recipes. But, my fav food would have to be blueberry pie and also, the stuffing and cherry pie, too! ☺
There are so many ways to cook a turkey, does your family have a special way of getting the big bird ready, perhaps a special ingredient or stuffing?
Have to keep that one secret and safe ☺
After eating all that food and settling in for the evening what do you do with the time that's left before bed?
Get back to some reading and writing and a good old fashioned movie is always great!
Is there any other information you'd care to share with us about your books that are out now or any upcoming novels?
Well, the two books are generating pretty good buzz, and I’m busy writing a sci fi horror novel as well as the sequel to Little Orphan Anvil. And, wanted to just say thank you for the time and opportunity to share with you all, and very thankful to be able to “GET” to write and read and share my stories with the world
