"GOOD TIDINGS & TRIMMINGS" CHRISTMAS INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR PATRICIA LYNNE

Thank you again for donating a book for our 1st annual "Good Tidings & Trimmings" e-book Giveaway! What book or books did you donate, tell us more about them.

I donated by debut novel, Being Human.

For Tommy, there is only one thing he needs to do: survive.

Only surviving isn't that easy. The hunt for blood can be tricky when humans know to fear the night. Desire sits on the edge of his mind, urging him to become the monster humans think he is. Vampire Forces, a special branch of police, is determined to turn every vampire to ash. Tommy included.

The only human Tommy can trust is his twin brother. A bond connects them, and with Danny's help, Tommy starts to understand the human world he struggles to survive in. He'll learn what friendships means and feel the sting of betrayal, find that sometimes the worst monsters are very human, and come to understand that family means more than blood.

Tommy just wants to survive and he knows what he needs to do. But with the number of humans that mean more to him than a meal growing, he'll learn there's more to life than simple survival. He'll discover being human doesn't mean being a human.

What is your favorite thing about the holiday season and what does Christmas mean to you?

I love decorating and seeing all the other houses lit up with holiday lights. For me, Christmas is a time to be with those you love, and to wish good will on all.

What is your favorite holiday memory?

Don’t ask me why but when I figured out my grandpa was really Santa. He’d call every year and one year I refused to believe him. I kept telling him, “No, you’re not Santa, you’re Papa.” The memory always makes me smile and laugh.

Do you still have any of the toys you got when you were a kid?

The original NES I still have. It’s stored at my parents’ house and I will not let them sell it.

How do you celebrate the holidays?

I don’t really do anything too special. My family has Christmas parties before and after Christmas and I go to them with my husband. Christmas day, I open presents with family and chill the rest of the day.

Do you still believe in Santa Claus?

Nope. Can’t quite remember when I stopped. Probably around the time I figured out Papa was the one calling and not Santa.

A lot of people get that warm, fuzzy feeling around this time of year, are you one of those people?

Noooooo way. Christmas music tends to annoy me. The bustle and fuss of people gets on my nerves too, so I’ll hole up in my home until I feel like venturing out and braving the holidays.

Have you ever gone caroling or wanted to?

No, I get nervous at the idea of any kind of performance.

If you had a choice of the perfect weather for Christmas would it be cold and snowy, or warm and sunny?

That’s tough because I’m not a fan of snow, but one year, my hubby and I went to his parents for Christmas in Mississippi and the lack of snow was just weird. Can I get the warmth but have the snow too? LOL
